2020 CLS Winter Blog Hop

Hello & Welcome to the 2020 Creative Life Scrapbooking Winter Blog Hop!

If you’re hopping in order, you came from Diana's Blog.  At the end of my post I’ll send you on your way to Noreen’s blog. There are 8 stops in this Blog hop. Be sure to visit each blog – there are lots of wonderful ideas being shared!

For today's layout I'm using products from the Winterberry line from Creative Memories. I know - for most of us, winter is cold but it can also be beautiful!! The colors in the Winterberry line are perfect for snowy photos!

I used lots of items from the Winterberry Variety Mat pack in this layout. Mats on the left side behind the photos and winter gnome, and also cut a circle to mat the snowflake sticker. I cut that from the mat behind the photo of the barn. The gnome's body and feet are also cut from papers in the Mat pack. You'll see some patterns in the Variety Mat Packs that are not in the corresponding paper packs. On the right side, the journal box is from the Variety Mat pack, too.

Those beautiful blue snowflakes in the top left are from the Winterberry Laser Embellishment pack. Each pack has one of each design so to stretch them a little further I sometimes cut them apart. I used the rest of the border on the right side of the layout shown below.

To make the winter gnome use the following items:

Body - cut I6B oval

Feet - cut (2) I4B ovals

Beard - Pine Tree Punch

Nose - a heart sticker from the Winterberry collection

To make the hat, first cut a 1 1/2" x 2" strip. Find the center of one of the shorter sides and make a cut from that point to one of the opposite corners. This is super easy with the 12" CM Trimmer. Do the same on the other side (see below for photos.) Use an oval CCS pattern to shape the bottom of the hat. That cut was 7OR.

If you're not familiar with the CCS labeling system you can learn about that in this post.

On a few items in this layout I inked the edges using the wide tip of a black Dual Tip pen. I think it helps them stand out just enough.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope these ideas have inspired you and I can't wait to see your take on them!  Please feel free to share what you've created in my Lisa's Workshop Facebook Group
